Welcome to Taco-Time. A look around the sporting world at current Events.

The IOC has traded in credibility for profit. With the Olympics underway, the scenes unfolding in Japan show that the IOC should be ashamed of itself. Back in 1983, the Olympics were pushed back until October to avoid the sweltering heat. This year, they decided to push forward with a July start time due to more Revenue for the IOC and NBC. This has resulted in heat exhaustion for many athletes, with temperatures in the high 80's, low 90's and a high humidity rating. This is not what Japan said when they put in their Olympic bid in 2007.

Will There Be Punishment?

Japan described this time of year as pleasant and idealistic, something that is imperially untrue. Athletes train their whole lives for this and expect they'll be competing against the best in the world, not against weather. Japan knew what the weather would be like when they applied to hold these Olympic Games, and now the athletes are suffering because of it. Will Anyone be held accountable? Or will the Profits made from the game make everyone turn a bling eye?

Russia's Olympic Suspension Is An International Joke.

Russia was found guilty of one of the largest doping scandal's in sports history by the World-Anti-Doping-Agency after a whistle blower provided evidence that Russia had been cheating for more than a decade. Resulting in a suspension from these Olympic Games (as well as the previous Games held in PyeongChang, South Korea) with Russia supposedly not being able to send any athlete to an international sports event until 2022. Yet, there are over 300 Russian athletes participating in these games as "neutral" under the banner of Russian Olympic Committee. Even though they do not play the Russian National Anthem for these athletes, they are still able to compete. The Russian flag may not be at these Olympic Games, but Russian Athletes are. Showing the world that there are no real consequences for cheating, and making a joke of the IOC once again. Author: Spacebasstaco
